Heaven's Doggie Door
"For Jodi & Tiffy"
My best friend closed her eyes today,
As her head was in our hands.
The Doctors said she was in pain,
Sick and tired, she'd run a good game.
The thoughts that scurried through our head,
As we cradled her in our arms.
Were of her younger days where she romp'd and played,
And OH...her many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you gaze",

No warm fuzzy body rubbing up against our legs.
Only hearts that are filled with tears,
Remembering her sweet little face and all those happy years.

But an Angel just appeared to us, and bid us cry no more,
Your baby is happy, safe and warm.
Breathing is no longer a chore.
She's resting safe in Gods arms, remember
His love for our canine friends is just as great as ours.

He wants you to rest and know, he's taking care of her.
He even installed a "doggy-door".
